About this game
Company of Heroes 3 is a PlayStation 5 strategy game centered on combat encounters, turn-based tactical decisions, and resource or business management. Missions add map constraints, new rules, and tougher opposition, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Maps, unit states, and action feedback determine whether complex situations remain readable, while SSD streaming, 4K and HDR output, 3D audio, performance or quality modes, and high-density interfaces need to preserve feedback and information clarity together. The genre-specific limitation is that tutorial depth, dense menus, controller pointing, and long scenarios increase the learning curve. Platform conditions also include install size, SSD space, patch version, DualSense battery life, visual mode and frame rate, online dependencies, PS VR2 requirements, and cross-generation version differences affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.
Collected in series
Company of Heroes brings World War II battles down to the decisions made around a wall, a road or an exposed flank. You command squads and vehicles in real time, using cover and combined arms as destruction reshapes the battlefield.

A strong console tactical experience with a clear update boundary.
Company of Heroes 3 retains meaningful tactical decisions on PS5 while offering ways to slow the action. Cover, infantry and vehicles need to support one another, and single-player tactical pause lets players arrange orders before watching a plan unfold. The linear North African missions and dynamic Italian campaign offer complementary structures. The latter adds resources, territory management and longer-term planning, though switching between strategic administration and combat increases the learning burden. Mediterranean settings and battlefield destruction establish a convincing atmosphere, while manual saves and control reminders support manageable sessions. Buyers must recognise that routine console updates have ended; this edition should not be assumed to contain later PC improvements. It remains attractive for the existing single-player campaigns, less so for players expecting continuing competitive expansion.
Strengths
- Meaningful combined-arms tactics
- Console-friendly tactical pause
- Complementary campaign structures
Weaknesses
- Strategic administration adds learning burden
- Routine console updates have ended
Who it is for: Console players primarily interested in planning single-player tactics.
Play notes: Console Edition is not the current PC build; ended routine updates do not mean the servers have closed.
