About this game
Castlevania Advance Collection brings together Circle of the Moon, Harmony of Dissonance, Aria of Sorrow and Dracula X. The three Game Boy Advance adventures centre on action and exploration, but each builds combat around a different system. Combine cards in Circle of the Moon, pair sub-weapons with spell books in Harmony of Dissonance, or gain monster abilities through souls in Aria of Sorrow. The collection also provides ways to revisit a difficult moment: rewind the action or save and reload during play. An encyclopedia explains enemies and ability systems, while the gallery and music player collect artwork and soundtracks. Regional ROMs can be selected, although their save data is kept separate.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
An appealing collection for players who like comparing combat systems and revisiting demanding action on their own terms.
Cards, spell combinations and monster souls give experiment-minded players different ways to approach the exploration games. Rewind and flexible saves can make retrying a tricky encounter less costly, while the archive extras offer a reason to pause outside the action.
Strengths
- Distinct ability systems give the exploration games different opportunities for experimentation.
- Rewind and anytime saves can make focused practice easier to fit around interruptions.
Who it is for: Players drawn to castle exploration, ability combinations and game-history extras, especially those who appreciate flexible retries.
Play notes: Save data is separate for each regional ROM version.
