About this game
Castle Crashers Remastered sends you into a 2D fighting adventure to rescue princesses and defend a kingdom. Local partners can join the campaign, with cooperation supporting up to four players on one system. As characters advance, they unlock new combo and magic attacks, adding actions to use in the fights ahead. Leveling also lets you distribute development across Strength, Magic, Defense and Agility. Unlockable weapons and Animal Orb companions with different abilities add further choices to character setup. Alongside the campaign, Back Off Barbarian changes the activity to hopping around enemies rather than fighting through them. Cartoon violence and crude humor are part of the game's presentation.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
A fit for local groups that want arcade fighting with characters to develop together.
Unlocking attacks and allocating attributes can give repeated fights a sense of character development. Animal Orb choices add another setup decision, while local cooperation makes that progression available as a shared activity.
Strengths
- New attacks and attribute choices can make character growth matter to how players approach combat.
- Local cooperation can suit a group that wants to work through a campaign together.
Weaknesses
- Groups expecting guest progress to persist automatically may find the separate-profile setup inconvenient.
Who it is for: Players who enjoy cooperative arcade combat, incremental character building and cartoon violence with crude humor.
Play notes: Local partners need separate selected Switch profiles to retain their own progress. Before quitting, return to the world map to save experience and gold; keeping stages unlocked also depends on designated save-point levels.
