About this game

Burgertime World Tour is a PlayStation 3 action game centered on platform movement and landing judgment, combat encounters, and area and route exploration. Stages build pressure through routes, enemy patterns, and changing objectives, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Animation, hits, camera behavior, and readable hazards determine whether feedback remains dependable, while HD 3D scenes, Blu-ray data streaming, surround audio, and cinematic presentation need to preserve action, state, and text readability together. The genre-specific limitation is that camera behavior, collision rules, input mapping, and repeated ground after failure can raise the entry barrier. Platform conditions also include Blu-ray loading, HDD installs, system software, DualShock 3 battery life, Move accessories, resolution and frame rate, and retired online services affect present-day use. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.

Inventive burger platforming hindered by PS3 control friction.

BurgerTime World Tour on PlayStation 3 keeps the goal of walking over ingredients to build burgers, then expands the single-screen ladder formula with a jump, moving platforms, spikes and collectibles. Larger levels continue to introduce different arrangements, and a direct PS3 reviewer appreciates how the colourful characters and comic scenes refresh the food theme. The extra precision is also where the release struggles. Movement feels sticky and sometimes unresponsive, while a close camera makes it hard to plan around platforms that move only after a wait. Pursuing enemies can arrive during that wait, giving early stages a steep, occasionally unfair-feeling curve. The music is serviceable but less distinctive than the visuals. The review observed quiet online play in 2012; that observation is neither a claim about the present service nor a basis for the score. This is the PS3 downloadable build, not the protected Wii sibling or the classic arcade game. Players curious about the platforming redesign should expect control friction.

Strengths

  • Platform hazards and colourful scenes expand the old formula.

Weaknesses

  • Imprecise movement and a close camera amplify frustration.

Who it is for: Players curious about the redesign and tolerant of rough controls.

Play notes: Reviewed PS3 download only; 2012 online activity is not current status.
