About this game
ARMS turns extendable limbs into the central tool of a fighting game. Choose equipment for each hand, then attack while using jumps and dashes to reposition. With the Joy-Con thumbs-up grip, you can twist a punch's trajectory after throwing it or extend both arms together to grab an opponent. Button controls are also available. Your equipment choices continue between rounds, when you can change the arms brought into battle. Charging activates elemental effects, while the Get ARMS target activity can add equipment to your collection. Grand Prix offers successive battles at selectable difficulties; volleyball with an explosive ball, opponent-dunking basketball and target breaking apply the arms to different objectives.

AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
A fit for players who enjoy aiming attacks and adjusting a loadout between bouts.
Curved punches and independently equipped arms may reward players who like experimenting with attack angles and combinations. Grand Prix and the sporting variants give those tools different objectives, although enjoyment will still depend on liking the underlying combat.
Strengths
- Separate arm choices and round-start changes provide room to revise an approach after facing an opponent.
- Motion and button controls give players a choice about how physically involved they want to be.
Weaknesses
- Players who dislike practising combat through successive bouts may find Grand Prix's structure less appealing.
Who it is for: Players interested in directional attacks, equipment combinations and competition built around learning a compact set of actions.
