About this game

Bust-a-Move Plus! is a Wii puzzle game centered on puzzle, maze, or device solving, rule recognition, and spatial or logical judgment. Compact stages add conditions and tighter constraints over time, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make its immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Graphics, audio, touch, or pointer feedback need to support decisions directly, while standard-definition output, motion feedback, and interface scale at television distance need to preserve control readability. The genre-specific limitation is that limited explanations, input recognition, repetition, or abrupt difficulty can stall progress. Platform conditions also include the Sensor Bar, remote batteries, motion calibration, peripheral requirements, storage limits, and retired online services affect present-day use. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features from other editions.

Familiar bubble play held back by block-heavy late stages.

Puzzle Bobble Plus! is the WiiWare release called Bust-A-Move Plus! in North America, not the separate Wii retail game Bash!. Its essential pleasure is unchanged: bank a coloured bubble off a wall, form a group and drop the unsupported mass beneath it. Metal guard blocks, wooden supports and special bubbles add routes to consider. The base game offers 125 stages across twenty-five zones plus local competition; optional paid packs are outside this assessment. A direct WiiWare review reports that later boards can become crowded with blocks and depend too heavily on receiving a useful colour. Losing also resets the current score, making those late retries more discouraging than the approachable rules suggest. Cheerful characters and clear colours keep it recognizable, but the package does not transform the series. It suits owners who already have the WiiWare release and want brief puzzle sessions. Present-day shop availability is not assumed.

Strengths

  • 125 base stages, bank shots and special bubbles.

Weaknesses

  • Crowded late boards and punitive score resets.

Who it is for: Existing WiiWare owners who enjoy short puzzle rounds.

Play notes: North American Plus! name; paid packs and current shop access excluded.
