Overview

Ni no Kuni is a fantasy RPG series with the look of an animated adventure. You travel between towns and strange landscapes, meet companions and battle creatures; different games add ideas such as consulting a real spellbook, building a kingdom or adventuring with other players. Representative games: Ni no Kuni: Dominion of the Dark Djinn (2010): The DS original comes with a physical magic book whose clues help you through the adventure. Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom (2018): Evan’s journey includes building a kingdom alongside exploration and battles. Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds (2021): Takes the setting into an online RPG with character classes, familiars and shared adventures. Suitable for: For players who like storybook worlds and watching a small group grow into something bigger, with time spent getting to know places and companions between battles.
