Overview

Mortal Kombat is a fighting series where martial artists and supernatural rivals settle their disputes in brutal duels. You read an opponent’s attacks, block and counter with special moves and combos, while graphic Fatalities give victories their unmistakable finish. Representative games: Mortal Kombat (1992): Establishes the arcade duels and character-specific Fatalities that became series signatures. Mortal Kombat (2011): Adds two-on-two tag battles, letting partners switch in and extend attacks together. Mortal Kombat 1 (2023): Introduces separately selected Kameo fighters who assist with attacks and defensive moves. Suitable for: For players who enjoy practicing a favorite fighter, spotting an opponent’s habits and pulling off a rehearsed combo under pressure, with a taste for extravagant horror imagery.
