About this game
Tomb Raider: Anniversary is a PC shooter game centered on aiming and shooting, positioning and evasion, and weapon and firepower management. Missions pace progress through enemy waves, routes, objectives, and weapon opportunities, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Aiming feedback, projectiles, hits, and danger zones need to remain readable, while resolution, graphics settings, frame rate, aspect ratio, audio, text scaling, and hardware performance need to preserve action, state, and text readability together. The genre-specific limitation is that camera turning, aiming methods, dense encounters, and peripheral support can increase control pressure. Platform conditions also include OS and hardware requirements, installation media, patches, drivers, DRM and launchers, key binding and controller support, save locations, mod compatibility, servers, and era-specific OS compatibility affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.
Collected in series
Tomb Raider follows Lara Croft into ruins where finding a route can be as important as surviving a fight. Climbing, ancient mechanisms and archaeological mysteries anchor adventures that range from deliberate exploration to cinematic action.

Spatial puzzles and agile movement combine well, with occasional PC camera and checkpoint friction.
Anniversary turns large ruins into routes that can gradually be understood. Grappling, wall running and grabbing ledges are tools for solving distance and height, making the transition from confusion to confident movement its real reward. The PC presentation helps make spaces readable, while environmental sound and restrained music give empty chambers tension. Relics and time trials offer reasons to continue practicing after completion. Some checkpoints make repeated errors costly, however, and walls can obstruct the camera at inconvenient moments. Combat provides a change of pace without becoming the main attraction. This version best suits players willing to observe, practice and tolerate occasional trial and error. The assessment covers the historical 2007 Windows release, without transferring PS2 loading complaints or guaranteeing modern operating-system compatibility.
Strengths
- Strong connection between spatial reasoning and movement
- Convincing scale and solitude
Weaknesses
- Some checkpoints require repeated sections
- Occasional camera and targeting friction
Who it is for: Action-adventure players who enjoy environmental puzzles, climbing and secrets.
Play notes: Historical 2007 Windows release; modern systems, high frame rates and unofficial fixes were not tested.
