About this game
The Bureau XCOM Declassified is a Xbox 360 shooter game centered on aiming, shooting, and weapon use, combat encounters, and area and route exploration. Missions pace progress through enemy waves, routes, objectives, and weapon opportunities, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Aiming feedback, projectiles, hits, and danger zones need to remain readable, while HD video, DVD streaming, surround audio, HDD installs, and television-distance interfaces need to keep action, state, and text readable. The genre-specific limitation is that camera turning, aiming methods, dense encounters, and peripheral support can increase control pressure. Platform conditions also include disc and HDD installation, storage devices, controller batteries, video connections, resolution and frame rate, Kinect space and calibration, and retired online services affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.
Collected in series
XCOM is a science-fiction strategy series best known for combining squad tactics with decisions made back at headquarters. You choose where soldiers move and when they fire, then invest scarce resources in the research and equipment that may keep them alive next time. Its battles turn a broad struggle over Earth into the fate of a few people under your command.

Xbox 360AI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
An intriguing XCOM spinoff made cumbersome by squad AI and checkpoint friction.
The Bureau: XCOM Declassified on Xbox 360 is a 1962-set third-person tactical shooter, not the turn-based Enemy Unknown. A slowed tactical wheel lets the player direct two agents and activate class skills, theoretically setting up flanks. In the direct Xbox 360 review, issuing movement orders was made cumbersome by a location cursor that could be blocked by walls. Teammates frequently exposed themselves to enemy fire and needed rescuing, undermining the very squad tactics the system was built to support. Four classes and headquarters conversations provide some structure between missions, but repeated firefights and long gaps between checkpoints can force several encounters to be replayed. Period suits against alien technology make an attractive visual premise. Generic alien spaces, flat characterization and unsupported late drama fail to capitalize on it. The source details controller-command and checkpoint usability but supplies no measured Xbox 360 frame rate, so no performance number is invented here. This is a spinoff with a workable concept whose execution too often turns planning into labor.
Strengths
- The tactical wheel and class choices suggest engaging squad planning.
Weaknesses
- Poor AI, awkward commands, sparse saves and thin writing blunt the concept.
Who it is for: Players curious about a Cold War-flavoured squad shooter despite rough execution.
Play notes: No frame-rate or other-console claim is inferred from this Xbox 360 review.
