About this game

Captain Leeway and his crew investigate a water crisis that threatens their mechanical bodies. In turn-based firefights, plan your actions and aim shots yourself, using walls and other surfaces to bounce bullets toward enemies. Before the next mission, choose crew weapons, abilities and equipment through the job system, shaping how your team approaches combat. Between these encounters, explore the ocean and take part in real-time naval battles. Raid enemy strongholds for loot that strengthens the crew, then visit bars to upgrade your gear and team. The adventure moves between aiming individual shots, preparing crew configurations and navigating naval encounters, with music and songs by Steam Powered Giraffe.

8.5 / 10Nintendo Switch

A likely fit for tacticians who want to execute their own trick shots as well as prepare the crew behind them.

Manual aiming and ricochets may make battlefield geometry as interesting as choosing a crew configuration. Real-time naval encounters introduce a different kind of decision-making between turn-based battles, which may appeal to players who enjoy switching between deliberate plans and direct navigation.

Strengths

  • Ricochet shots can turn the surrounding surfaces into opportunities for tactical problem-solving.
  • Jobs and equipment may let players connect crew preparation with the shooting situations they want to create.

Weaknesses

  • The switch to real-time naval combat may be unwelcome for players seeking an entirely turn-based adventure.

Who it is for: Players who enjoy planning a team, lining up their own shots and alternating tactical missions with naval exploration.
