About this game

The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- places students under orders to protect their school for one hundred days. Play alternates between a text-led mystery and tactical defense battles. Characters have individual combat traits, and the same defender can act repeatedly within a turn; fatigue restricts movement after an action, making the choice of who acts again consequential. Between battles, free-time activities include exploration and making gifts for companions. Some activities advance the clock. Exploration uses movement cards to cross spaces and gather materials, which can then become gifts. The school setting extends into combat through supernatural armor and weapons specific to each student, connecting the cast’s identities with their battlefield appearance.

A fit for story-focused players who also want tactical decisions about repeated actions and positioning.

Allowing a defender to act again while limiting movement through fatigue creates a distinct reason to weigh action order. The academy’s reading, exploration and gift-making give the same cast a role outside combat, provided you enjoy switching between narrative and tactics.

Strengths

  • Repeated actions and character-specific traits offer a concrete tactical tradeoff around whom to use and when.

Weaknesses

  • Players seeking a continuous sequence of tactical fights may find the text-led school segments a substantial change of focus.

Who it is for: Readers who enjoy school mysteries and want battles with character-dependent decisions alongside exploration and companion activities.
