About this game
Slay the Spire makes building your deck part of the journey. During each climb, you choose cards to add and use their combinations to defeat the creatures ahead. Relics introduce effects that interact with your deck, giving you another consideration when deciding which cards belong together. Progress also involves choosing a route through the tower. Its layout changes between attempts, and paths offer different levels of risk, so the route and deck are both part of your decisions. A failed climb leads to another attempt through a newly arranged Spire. The recurring task is to assemble useful combinations while deciding how much danger to take on before reaching the top.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
A deckbuilding climb suited to players who enjoy adapting their plans to new combinations.
Card combinations and relic effects give players reasons to reconsider how a deck works as it develops. If you enjoy making plans around changing opportunities, the variable routes can make that experimentation part of the climb itself.
Strengths
- Cards and relics offer connected decisions, which can appeal to players who like discovering interactions.
- Route selection gives risk-taking a role alongside deck construction.
Weaknesses
- Players who prefer rehearsing a fixed route may find the changing layout less compatible with that approach.
Who it is for: Players who enjoy building combinations and adapting a strategy between attempts.
Play notes: Failure starts another climb rather than continuing the same attempt.
