About this game
Shantae explores a tropical world that connects its surface to a sunken city. You use her hair-whip attack while moving through towns and labyrinths, and gain Fusion Magic abilities for exploring the city below. These powers let her switch instantly between creature forms rather than treating every interaction as the same action. Dances have their own uses, including activating machinery and restoring health. Collectible Monster Cards provide power-ups alongside the expanding set of abilities. Exploration therefore brings together combat, transformations and interactions with the surroundings. Animated television-style cutscenes accompany the adventure, while its connected geography links the places above and below the sea.
Collected in series
Shantae is WayForward's colorful platform-adventure series starring a half-genie heroine who fights with her hair. Jump through hazards, explore labyrinths and gain abilities that open new routes. Many entries use dance transformations, while Pirate's Curse trades those powers for versatile pirate equipment.
