About this game
Resident Evil Revelations 2 is an episodic survival-horror adventure. Claire Redfield and Moira Burton are abducted and imprisoned in an abandoned island facility. Responding to his daughter’s distress call, Barry begins a search and meets Natalia, a young girl with mysterious abilities. The story follows Claire’s and Barry’s sides of the crisis as they seek escape and answers under an unseen observer. Four core episodes each contain both perspectives. Raid Mode provides additional missions, while bonus content and extras differ between release packages rather than belonging automatically to every edition.
Collected in series
Resident Evil follows people trying to survive biological disasters, combining dangerous exploration, puzzles and encounters with hostile creatures. Each game finds a different balance between fear and action, with fixed, over-the-shoulder and first-person perspectives changing how you face the danger.

Resident Evil Revelations 2
Character cooperation and missions appeal, but dated Vita input and loading limitations are substantial.
Revelations 2 gives investigation and action useful connections through its divided character roles. Switching to Natalia to locate a hidden threat before returning to Barry, or using a partner’s abilities for a mechanism, adds decisions beyond shooting. Four story chapters and Raid missions also provide substantial goals for portable play. Historical Vita tests record significant costs, however: long loading interrupts progress, choppy encounters and uncertain aiming hinder combat, and muddy environments and muffled effects weaken the atmosphere. Touch controls receive mixed responses, with some reviewers finding them approachable and others finding screen-corner actions awkward in fights. Those differences should retain their testing context. It suits players specifically seeking this adventure on Vita who can accept the documented compromises. Transferring the content does not, by itself, establish equally successful interaction.
Strengths
- Character switching connects observation with action
- Raid missions extend goals beyond the story
Weaknesses
- Long loading and aiming costs in dated tests
- Environment and sound reduce atmosphere
Who it is for: Players interested in partner roles and familiar characters who accept the version’s documented limits.
Play notes: Independent judgment from official material and identified PS Vita tests including 2015-09-08, not our own playtest. Models, patches and hours are incompletely disclosed. Dated findings and different Vita touch responses retain their scopes; PSTV fixes and modified-clock results are excluded. Current networking and frame rates are unverified.

| Dimension | Review state | Score | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dimension Four chapters show the island through two teams, while Raid missions add progression outside the campaign. Replay goals exist, but linear routes and limited exploration reduce variety. | Reviewed | 7.7 / 10 | 0.25 |
| Dimension Partners divide combat, perception and puzzle roles, making character switching useful for progress. The idea has value, though AI behaviour and repeated fighting can interrupt its rhythm. | Reviewed | 7.6 / 10 | 0.4 |
| Dimension Some island atmosphere survives, but Vita tests describe muddy environments, washed-out colour and muffled sound. Characters and cinematics fare better than the surroundings, leaving an uneven sense of place. | Reviewed | 5.8 / 10 | 0.2 |
| Dimension Vita tests report long loading, choppy encounters and aiming difficulty, while touch-control comfort varies between reviewers. Interruption and feedback limit usability; PSTV button changes are not a comprehensive handheld fix. | Reviewed | 4.7 / 10 | 0.15 |
