About this game
Pikmin 3 Deluxe follows explorers searching for fruit and seeds to help their food-starved home planet. Throw Pikmin at fruit to have them carry it, or put them to work gathering bridge fragments to open a route. Different abilities affect where they can work: Blue Pikmin, for example, survive underwater. You can divide the crew between three captains and switch groups to explore in different directions. Exploration has a return-to-ship deadline, and hostile creatures can eat your Pikmin. Deluxe adds difficulty settings, optional directional hints and lock-on targeting, alongside local two-player Story cooperation. It also includes Olimar and Louie side-story missions and all DLC stages from the original release.
Collected in series
Pikmin blends exploration and squad management as tiny plantlike helpers tackle obstacles far larger than themselves. Choosing the right helpers, sharing out jobs and bringing everyone back safely turn each expedition into a small planning puzzle.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
For explorers who enjoy organizing several small jobs while protecting the creatures doing them.
Pikmin abilities and captain switching can turn exploration into a problem of matching workers to routes and tasks. The return deadline and risk of predation add reasons to balance collecting fruit with keeping the group safe.
Strengths
- Pikmin abilities and divided captain groups offer different ways to organize exploration.
- Local Story cooperation lets two players share the task-management role.
Weaknesses
- The return deadline may interrupt the approach of players who want to explore without time pressure.
Who it is for: Players who enjoy route planning, assigning creatures to jobs and coordinating exploration with a local partner.
Play notes: Exploration requires returning to the ship before time expires, and creatures encountered along the way can eat Pikmin.
