About this game
Ori and the Will of the Wisps is an adventure combining platform action, exploration and combat. A flight puts the owlet Ku in danger, sending Ori into a new land to reunite the family. Strange creatures, towering enemies and environmental puzzles stand between discoveries and the route forward. Movement and combat abilities expand through the journey. Players read terrain and combine jumps, traversal actions and different powers to cross obstacles or handle enemies. Exploration also introduces characters offering help and new goals, while the hand-painted visual style and orchestral score accompany a story about finding a path and restoring the land.
Collected in series
Ori is a platform-adventure series about a small spirit exploring beautiful, dangerous natural worlds. New movement abilities turn obstacles into routes, while expressive animation and music give the journey an emotional pull. Graceful exploration gives way to demanding jumps and escapes.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps
The pleasure of linking movement abilities carries the adventure, while combat and visual density sometimes interrupt that flow.
Movement is most appealing when the environment becomes a sequence of possibilities rather than a set of stops. A new ability can turn the next stretch of terrain into an invitation to combine actions, and the satisfaction comes from carrying that plan through without losing momentum. Exploring for improvements and helping the inhabitants offer quieter reasons to remain in the world between demanding sections. The expanded combat does not always support the same feeling: waiting for openings in an enclosed arena can make the freedom of traversal feel temporarily distant. Rich scenery also has a practical cost when important action competes with background detail. The inspected Windows review finds jumping and dashing precise while describing crowded visual information during combat. Together these qualities favour players who enjoy practising traversal while accepting that fights do not always preserve its rhythm.
Strengths
- Connected movement abilities make terrain invite experimentation and sustained momentum.
Weaknesses
- Combat stops and busy scenery can interrupt movement and make action harder to read.
Who it is for: Players who enjoy learning traversal combinations and exploring a richly presented world.
