About this game
LOST PLANET 2 is a Xbox 360 shooter game centered on aiming, shooting, and weapon use, area and route exploration, and weapon and firepower management. Missions pace progress through enemy waves, routes, objectives, and weapon opportunities, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Aiming feedback, projectiles, hits, and danger zones need to remain readable, while HD video, DVD streaming, surround audio, HDD installs, and television-distance interfaces need to keep action, state, and text readable. The genre-specific limitation is that camera turning, aiming methods, dense encounters, and peripheral support can increase control pressure. Platform conditions also include disc and HDD installation, storage devices, controller batteries, video connections, resolution and frame rate, Kinect space and calibration, and retired online services affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.
Collected in series
Lost Planet centres on battles against enormous Akrid creatures and human rivals on E.D.N. III. Guns and towering machines give its action a distinctive sense of scale, with thermal energy and hostile environments shaping the struggle.

Xbox 360AI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
Mech cooperation has promise, but AI and repeated knockback undermine actual gunplay.
Lost Planet 2 promises appealing cooperation: one player pilots a mech, another rides alongside, and the group attacks enormous creatures across jungles, deserts, industrial spaces and orbit. Its levels do not reliably teach that coordination. Loading ammunition, extinguishing fires and operating train turrets are poorly explained, and AI companions cannot consistently handle those jobs. Repeated knockback and lengthy animations remove control, while failed chapters demand substantial replay, making difficulty feel less like a fair skill test. Six episodes offer valuable situational variety and visual scale, weakened by objective communication and retry pacing. Target-console controls document dual sticks, quick turns, combined rolling and healing access, showing functional options without proving platform performance. It suits tolerant mech-and-monster enthusiasts, especially cautiously when alone. Shared mechanics and platform input remain separate; current network cooperation and PC conveniences are not guaranteed.
Strengths
- Promising mech-and-monster cooperation
- Varied environments and visual scale
Weaknesses
- Weak AI and objective communication
- Knockback loops and costly retries
Who it is for: Mech-and-monster enthusiasts tolerant of rough cooperative design.
Play notes: Solo AI is weak; current networking is not guaranteed and control tables are not performance tests.
