About this game
Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX is a PlayStation 3 action game centered on collection and development goals, movement and immediate actions, and enemy and hazard responses. Stages build pressure through routes, enemy patterns, and changing objectives, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Animation, hits, camera behavior, and readable hazards determine whether feedback remains dependable, while HD 3D scenes, Blu-ray data streaming, surround audio, and cinematic presentation need to preserve action, state, and text readability together. The genre-specific limitation is that camera behavior, collision rules, input mapping, and repeated ground after failure can raise the entry barrier. Platform conditions also include Blu-ray loading, HDD installs, system software, DualShock 3 battery life, Move accessories, resolution and frame rate, and retired online services affect present-day use. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.
Collected in series
Kingdom Hearts brings original heroes into Disney worlds for adventures about friendship, hearts and the struggle against darkness. Its action RPG core combines Keyblade attacks, magic and companions, while connected chapters follow Sora and other heroes from different viewpoints.

Two refreshed games shine, but the third is passive and old friction remains.
Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX on PS3 is not three fully playable games. Kingdom Hearts Final Mix offers real-time action and world exploration, Re:Chain of Memories reshapes combat around cards, and 358/2 Days is presented through revised cutscenes, stills, and text. The two playable systems and connected stories make a varied introduction to the series. HD presentation gives the older Disney and Final Fantasy crossover worlds renewed clarity without erasing their style. It also leaves some old friction intact. The first game’s camera can resist the player, and imprecise jumping makes platform sections less comfortable than the refreshed visuals suggest. The cinematic third entry supplies context rather than equivalent interactive content. GameSpot reviewed this PS3 package directly, and the official manual confirms the product identity. The score concerns the actual collection: two games to play, one story to watch, and the controls as experienced on PlayStation 3.
Strengths
- Distinct combat systems and clearer HD worlds support revisiting.
Weaknesses
- Camera and jumping issues remain; 358/2 Days is not playable in full.
Who it is for: Players revisiting early Kingdom Hearts on PS3 with tolerance for older controls.
Play notes: 358/2 Days is a cinematic retelling, not a playable DS port.
