About this game
Granblue Fantasy: Relink is a PlayStation 5 adventure game centered on story, case, or mission progress, character and object interaction, and objective or clue progression. Locations, objectives, and clues gradually open the main chapters, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Theme, character expression, and environmental clues need to support exploration together, while SSD streaming, 4K and HDR output, 3D audio, performance or quality modes, and high-density interfaces need to preserve feedback and information clarity together. The genre-specific limitation is that guidance, objective triggers, camera behavior, or dense text can create search and comprehension costs. Platform conditions also include install size, SSD space, patch version, DualSense battery life, visual mode and frame rate, online dependencies, PS VR2 requirements, and cross-generation version differences affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.
Collected in series
Granblue Fantasy follows skyfarers among floating islands, carrying its fantasy cast into role-playing adventures and fighting games. The shared world connects very different ways to play, from planning a turn to trading blows or teaming up in real-time battles.

PlayStation 5AI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
Excellent character combat and bosses meet repetitive quests and a resolution trade-off.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink: Timed defense, character skills and link attacks connect execution to party cooperation. The varied roster changes how fights work, although dense effects sometimes hide an incoming attack and cloud a fair reaction. The campaign builds toward increasingly ambitious bosses, then a large mission list supports further character growth. Most short quests are less elaborate than the story encounters, so long-term appeal depends on enjoying repetition. Sky-world art, orchestral music and staged bosses establish a vivid fantasy identity. Constant battle chatter sometimes competes with the soundtrack and with the player’s need to read a busy encounter. The reviewed PS5 performance mode delivered smooth 60 fps play but only at 1080p, making image edges rougher on a 4K screen. This is a dated mode trade-off, not an assertion about later updates.
Strengths
- The roster changes combat substantially.
- Bosses and music give the campaign spectacle.
Weaknesses
- Postgame quests repeat.
- The reviewed PS5 performance mode trades sharpness away.
Who it is for: Action RPG players who enjoy building several distinct characters.
Play notes: Based on the 2024 PS5 build; later additions are outside this assessment.
