About this game
This remastered horror adventure follows intertwined investigations into disappearances on Mt. Hikami. You explore its locations, use psychic traces to find your direction and raise the Camera Obscura when ghosts attack. Photography is your means of fighting back: closer framing and capturing more targets together increase the damage of a shot. Timing matters too. Catching a ghost during a Fatal Frame opening enables a brief burst of photography without consuming film. Wetness adds another consideration, increasing your attack power while also making incoming attacks more damaging. The story progresses through missions, with completed ones available to replay. A separate photo mode lets you arrange characters and spirits into posed scenes, extending the remaster's photography beyond combat.

Nintendo SwitchAI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
For horror players drawn to the tension of looking directly at a threat.
Stronger close-range photographs could turn aiming into a choice between safety and damage. Wetness reinforces that tension by pairing increased attack power with greater vulnerability.
Strengths
- Framing and shutter timing give the act of observing a ghost a practical combat purpose.
- Mission replay offers a way to revisit encounters and refine photographic timing.
Who it is for: Players who enjoy supernatural investigation and combat based on observation and timing.
Play notes: In handheld mode, rolling the Camera Obscura left or right requires gyro input.
