About this game
Dinkum puts you to work turning an island settlement into a town. Grow crops, raise animals and sell what you harvest or gather, then reinvest the Dinks you earn. As the town develops, shops and visitors arrive, and some visitors may become residents. You can reshape the land and craft furnishings to give the place your own layout and character. Beyond town, red deserts, forests and mines provide places to explore. Wildlife calls for decisions about direct confrontation or traps, while seasons and weather affect the crops back home. Nintendo Switch 2 Edition retains the core game content. Play alone, or connect separate systems through local wireless or online multiplayer; online play requires an internet connection and Nintendo Switch Online.

Nintendo Switch 2AI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
Suited to builders who want their gathering trips to feed a growing town.
Selling gathered goods and putting the proceeds back into town can give exploration a tangible purpose. Farming and decorating offer different projects to pursue, although wildlife encounters mean the island is not solely a peaceful building space.
Strengths
- The link between gathering, earnings and town growth can make small outings feel relevant to a larger project.
- Terrain shaping and crafted decorations give layout-minded players ways to express their preferences.
Weaknesses
- Wildlife confrontation may interrupt the appeal for players seeking exclusively peaceful construction.
Who it is for: Players who enjoy alternating between gathering, farming and designing a settlement they gradually develop.
Play notes: Multiplayer uses separate systems; online sessions also require an internet connection and paid Nintendo Switch Online membership.
