About this game

Citizens Of Earth is a Wii U role-playing game centered on area and route exploration, area exploration, and combat and party setup. Story beats, exploration, and progression resources support a longer campaign, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make its immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Characters, world building, environments, and music carry most of the atmosphere, while HD television output and the GamePad screen need to divide maps, status, touch input, and primary focus clearly. The genre-specific limitation is that dense text, menu layers, repeated battles, loading, or language dependence can slow progress. Platform conditions also include GamePad battery life and range, shifts between two screens, loading, performance, and retired online and Miiverse services affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features from other editions.

6.5 / 10Wii U

A varied civic RPG hindered by Wii U loads and instability.

Citizens of Earth on Wii U recruits bakers, photographers and other townspeople, turning everyday jobs into party skills. A large cast makes team selection and growth genuinely flexible. Weaker attacks build energy for stronger ones, but defensive enemies can prolong fights. Recruitment includes inventive tasks alongside fetch errands, and enemies that return after room transitions make travel more repetitive than its colorful destinations suggest. Political puns, bright streets and absurd monsters give the work a clear comic identity, while animation, voice coverage and music are less consistently successful across the direct accounts. The Wii U review records waits of up to ten seconds when opening doors, a tiny map that the menu-focused GamePad does not solve, one crash costing progress, and occasional battle-screen flicker. Those are specific observations of its tested 2015 build. Shared mechanics were also checked against direct Vita and broader gameplay coverage; differences in reviewer enthusiasm were not treated as hardware differences. Later patch behavior remains unverified.

Strengths

  • Job-based party options and comic characters.

Weaknesses

  • Protracted fights, long loads, small map and observed crash.

Who it is for: Retro RPG fans tolerant of reviewed technical flaws.

Play notes: Crash and flicker refer to the reviewed 2015 build.
