About this game
Bokujou Monogatari - Yasuragi no Ki is a Wii adventure game centered on location exploration, character and object interaction, and objective or clue progression. Locations, objectives, and clues gradually open the main chapters, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make its immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Theme, character expression, and environmental clues need to support exploration together, while standard-definition output, motion feedback, and interface scale at television distance need to preserve control readability. The genre-specific limitation is that guidance, objective triggers, camera behavior, or dense text can create search and comprehension costs. Platform conditions also include the Sensor Bar, remote batteries, motion calibration, peripheral requirements, storage limits, and retired online services affect present-day use. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features from other editions.

Story of Seasons is the farming-life series known in Japan as Bokujo Monogatari, with earlier Western games released as Harvest Moon. Grow crops, care for animals and make time for your neighbors as you develop a farm. Individual entries bring different rhythms through family life, village friendships or trade.

Rich farming slowed by Wii camera and loading.
The Wii Bokujou Monogatari: Yasuragi no Ki, released in the West as Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility, places a farm on Waffle Island. Crops, mining, chickens, cattle, ostriches, part-time work and festivals let the player shape most days around stamina and the clock, while restoring the Goddess Tree supplies a broad goal. Completing the story can even allow a new run as the player’s child with possessions carried over. That scale and self-direction remain appealing, especially to newcomers, although returning farmers will recognise much of the underlying routine. Rounded characters express warmth and the music sits comfortably behind daily chores; the landscapes are comparatively bland and voice samples sound rough. A contemporary review of this exact Wii edition finds that generic remote flicks are optional and a Classic Controller can be used instead. Its fixed camera sometimes obscures work, rain brings frame-rate stutter, and moving between districts repeatedly incurs five-to-ten-second loads. Those interruptions regularly slow otherwise satisfying farm days. This is an independent Wii judgment, not a transferred score or technology claim from another Harvest Moon game.
Strengths
- Many farm pursuits, warm characters and an heir replay.
Weaknesses
- Familiar routine, weak scenery and frequent loads.
Who it is for: Players happy to cultivate a leisurely island farm.
Play notes: Wii Tree of Tranquility, not Animal Parade.
