About this game
Austin Powers - Oh, Behave! is a Game Boy Color action release centered on platform movement and landing judgment, puzzle, maze, or device solving, and movement and immediate actions. Stages build pressure through routes, enemy patterns, and changing objectives, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make its immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on campaign length or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Readable animation, hits, and hazards determine whether feedback remains dependable, while color choices need to distinguish characters, objects, and routes rather than serve as decoration alone. The main genre-specific friction is that period-specific collision rules, limited guidance, and repeated ground after failure can raise the entry barrier. In addition, battery saves, link cables, cartridge-specific hardware, the unlit display, and regional language can affect the original experience. This description covers only this release and excludes emulator features, modern-port conveniences, and content from other platforms.

Amusing desktop parody with shallow play and interface friction.
Oh, Behave! presents the handheld as Austin's pretend computer, mixing customizable backgrounds, character responses and movie clips with familiar minigames. Maze collecting benefits from temporary power-ups and area unlocks; Reversi and rock-paper-scissors provide additional short activities, alongside Austin's platform adventure. The computer opponent remains easy to outwit even at harder Reversi settings, however, and the appeal fades once the minigames are completed. Calculator and writing utilities add novelty rather than enduring challenge. Repeated confirmations, irritating selection noises and awkward platform controls also make browsing and playing cumbersome. Its appeal is closer to a peculiar film-themed toy for occasional inspection than a substantial action adventure. Fans may enjoy the references, but sustained solo play is less rewarding.
Strengths
- Maze power-ups and area unlocks offer brief fun
- Custom desktop and movie clips convey the theme
Weaknesses
- Weak Reversi computer opposition
- Limited lasting reward after minigames
- Cumbersome confirmations and harsh interface sounds
Who it is for: Film fans curious about a pretend-computer toy and brief minigames.
Play notes: In rock-paper-scissors, wait for green before pressing A; early input loses. Platform controls are awkward.
