About this game
Anarchy Reigns is a PlayStation 3 fighting game centered on combat encounters, move inputs, and offense-defense reads. Short bouts use character differences and rising difficulty for variety, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Animation, hit feedback, and readable arenas create match tension, while HD 3D scenes, Blu-ray data streaming, surround audio, and cinematic presentation need to preserve action, state, and text readability together. The genre-specific limitation is that button mapping, move recognition, multiplayer accessories, and cpu behavior can affect balance. Platform conditions also include Blu-ray loading, HDD installs, system software, DualShock 3 battery life, Move accessories, resolution and frame rate, and retired online services affect present-day use. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.

Expressive brawling, weakened by PS3 camera and frame dips.
Anarchy Reigns on PS3 imagines a large, unruly arena brawl. Characters share accessible basic commands but differ through size, weapons and fighting styles, so learning a gap in an opponent’s defense can turn a chaotic exchange into a deliberate counterattack. Changing arena hazards and giant intruders can make multiplayer spectacular. Access to more fighters, however, requires work through Jack and Leo campaigns that repeatedly ask the player to clear ordinary enemy waves before the next mission unlocks. The story does little to justify that gate. A firsthand PS3 review reports an obstructive camera and lock-on system, plus significant frame dips when explosions and bodies crowd the arena. The moments demanding the clearest reactions are therefore the least legible. Character designs have attitude, while backgrounds and sound lack comparable polish. This is most attractive to players who enjoy practicing brawler mechanics and can arrange opponents. Historical online impressions do not guarantee a current population or service. The technical judgment is specific to the documented PS3 release, not borrowed from Xbox 360.
Strengths
- Character differences and arena events add choices.
Weaknesses
- Repetitive solo missions, camera and busy-frame issues.
Who it is for: Players able to arrange and practice arena matches.
Play notes: Historical multiplayer does not promise current online play.
