About this game
Anton Cornwell lives on a northern Californian farm affected by unexplained phenomena and a mysterious purple substance. When the danger reaches his home, players explore the building from a first-person viewpoint, examine family documents and search its rooms for information. The atmosphere draws on science-fiction horror films of the 1970s and 1980s. Investigation takes place alongside the need to stop intrusions. Players can block access directly or use a home-automation application to respond remotely. An object hidden somewhere in the house provides another puzzle: finding it and working out its function may help resolve the crisis. The Western PS4 version was released in 2022.

Exploration and shutter defense create tension, despite sparse searches and limited replay variation.
Alterity Experience turns a farmhouse into an enclosed mystery that rewards learning its layout. Keys, codes and family documents gradually reveal rooms and optional clues; invasions then demand rapid entrance defense using the home app and familiar routes. Alternating quiet investigation with urgent protection creates tension beyond a simple scavenger hunt. A handheld floor plan concentrates entrance locations while keeping the corridor visible. However, investigation relies mainly on searching, activity density does not always match the space, and defense demands increase once the house opens fully. Randomized keys and different endings add some replay variation without substantially changing the loop. Books, posters and retro science-fiction music give the home character and atmosphere, while repeated furniture and emotionally weak voices reduce detail. It suits players who enjoy confined mysteries and route learning under pressure.
Strengths
- Gradual exploration alternates with invasion defense, making route learning useful.
- Family clues and lived-in furnishings complement an atmospheric retro science-fiction soundtrack.
- The home-app floor plan concentrates entrance locations for practical organization.
Weaknesses
- Searching has limited interaction variety, with sparse activity in parts of the house.
- Late defense covers more space, while replay variation remains limited.
- Repeated furnishings and emotionally weak voice acting reduce expressive detail.
Who it is for: Solo players who enjoy enclosed mysteries, environmental clues and memorizing routes, while accepting an alternation between quiet searching and urgent defense.
Play notes: This concerns the original PS4 base game. Learn rooms and entrances; closing shutters still leaves physical doors and windows to handle. The checked Brazilian listing has English voice and Spanish, French, English, Italian and Japanese text. Check other regions' languages separately.

| Dimension | Review state | Score | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dimension Gradual access, documents and alternating exploration with defense give progression a workable structure. Sparse activity during searches, greater late defense demands and limited replay variation create several pacing weaknesses that tense invasion peaks cannot consistently offset. | Reviewed | 6.4 / 10 | Not provided |
| Dimension Learning routes and responding to breached entrances make the farmhouse a good spatial challenge, with exploration building useful familiarity. Investigation relies mainly on finding keys and codes, limiting interaction variety; urgent defense carries the experience more strongly than puzzle reasoning. | Reviewed | 7.2 / 10 | Not provided |
| Dimension Family clues, lived-in details and retro science-fiction sound form a good enclosed mystery, with alarms reinforcing threat. Repeated furnishings, an assembled-object feel and emotionally weak voice acting reduce texture without erasing the house's atmospheric appeal. | Reviewed | 7.1 / 10 | Not provided |
| Dimension The handheld plan concentrates entrance information while retaining a corridor reference, with direct and remote handling offering practical organization. It provides good orientation, although players must still relate the plan to their rooms rather than replacing physical door and window handling. | Reviewed | 7.3 / 10 | Not provided |
