About this game

Almost My Floor follows two characters investigating disturbing events in house number nine. Alex is trying to get home but finds himself facing monsters and other residents in a situation that blurs fiction and reality. Detective Adam Trust approaches the building as a mystery he is determined to solve. Players explore comic-style locations through point-and-click interactions, solving environmental puzzles and deciding how to proceed. Different routes offer alternative ways through events, while dangerous decisions can lead to death. The two protagonists provide different perspectives on the same setting. Potata Company developed the game, and Sometimes You released its PS4 version in 2022.

7.3 / 10PlayStation 4

An engaging two-perspective nightmare adventure, slightly undermined by awkward gamepad interaction and intrusive quick-time events.

Almost My Floor turns an ordinary elevator ride home into a grotesque mystery, with a missing girlfriend and distorted apartment building inviting further questions. Switching to a private detective adds another perspective rather than merely extending the same escape route, while flashes of wit give the dark subject some breathing room. The PS4 edition retains traditional inventory puzzles and hotspot highlighting, with a graphic-novel look suited to its uncertain boundary between nightmare and reality. Its appeal lies in reading, observation and connecting clues, not demanding action. Occasional quick-time events interrupt that reflective pace, and gamepad interaction feels less streamlined than a console-first design. It is an engaging option for fans of uncanny detective stories and classic adventures, provided they accept some interface friction instead of expecting a direct horror-action experience.

Strengths

  • Two perspectives and witty mystery writing encourage further investigation.
  • Inventory puzzles, hotspot highlighting and a graphic-novel aesthetic suit the uncanny adventure.

Weaknesses

  • Quick-time events fit the puzzle pacing awkwardly, and gamepad interaction needs streamlining.

Who it is for: Players who enjoy reading clues, inventory puzzles and uncanny detective stories.

Play notes: This is the original PS4 game, not Duality. Expect disturbing monsters, death and occasional quick-time events.
