The 2023 PS4 Murder on the Orient Express moves Poirot’s famous case into the smartphone era and adds playable flashbacks featuring detective Joanna Locke. Players inspect and turn over objects, question passengers, connect evidence on mind maps and confront suspects with contradictions. These activities give the investigation more agency than simply following dialogue to a familiar reveal. Thirteen chapters extend the setting beyond the train, and the firsthand critic reports roughly twenty-five hours to finish. That expansion adds variety, though some stretches progress slowly. Art Deco carriage interiors, cinematic scenes, French and English voices and music create an appealing mystery; facial expressions can be stiff. The PS4 account says textures remain clean on older hardware and unfinished tasks are easy to identify, but the camera sometimes interferes in confined rooms. This assessment concerns the modern 2023 adaptation, not the unrelated 2006 PC title or the PS5 version.
