About this game
3Souls is a Wii U action game centered on area and route exploration, movement and immediate actions, and enemy and hazard responses. Stages build pressure through routes, enemy patterns, and changing objectives, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make its immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Animation, hits, camera behavior, and readable hazards determine whether feedback remains dependable, while HD television output and the GamePad screen need to divide maps, status, touch input, and primary focus clearly. The genre-specific limitation is that camera behavior, collision rules, input mapping, and repeated ground after failure can raise the entry barrier. Platform conditions also include GamePad battery life and range, shifts between two screens, loading, performance, and retired online and Miiverse services affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features from other editions.

Wii UAI review

Inventive two-screen puzzles meet frustrating trial and error and motion controls.
The launch chapter of 3Souls traps Nelesa in a bleak prison and asks the player to read her thoughts through the Wii U GamePad while finding a way out. The second display is more than a map: audio clues, touch, camera and motion input each take part in solving the rooms. That changing relationship between player and character gives the small game an unusual identity. The experiment is not consistently comfortable. Separating character and path across two screens can turn a clue into an initial failure. The motion safe wheel is unreliable in the contemporary Wii U test, and one puzzle asks for another device to scan a QR code. This assessment covers the initial Nelesa episode only; two promised chapters are not treated as delivered. It suits someone patient with experimental controls rather than a player wanting frictionless platforming.
Strengths
- GamePad features matter to the clues.
- Prison mood supports the character’s perspective.
Weaknesses
- Some puzzles require trial and error.
- Motion and external-device demands obstruct play.
Who it is for: Wii U players who enjoy experimental two-screen puzzles and patient retrying.
Play notes: Launch first episode only; full GamePad functions and an extra scanning device are needed.

| Dimension GamePad audio, touch and camera clues make the two-screen puzzles distinctive, but some hidden platforms demand attention on both displays and invite trial and error. | Reviewed | 6.4 / 10 | Not provided |
| Dimension The small pixel figure, gloomy prison and intimate voice clues create sympathy, though the short first episode has limited room to develop its wider world. | Reviewed | 7.1 / 10 | Not provided |
| Dimension The Wii U test found motion-operated safe wheels temperamental, and one QR puzzle needs a separate nearby device. These are specific access and control barriers. | Reviewed | 4.7 / 10 | Not provided |
