Dig Dug is Namco’s arcade action series about outwitting monsters with an air pump and the terrain around you. Dig tunnels and drop rocks in the original, or crack islands apart in later games to send enemies into the sea. Representative games: Dig Dug (1982): Inflate monsters until they burst or lure several beneath a falling rock. Dig Dug II (1985): Drive stakes into an island to break off sections of ground beneath your enemies. Dig Dug: Digging Strike (2005): Connect underground digging with action on the island above, using buried stakes to make land collapse.
