Overview

Battletoads is a comic action series starring fighting toads with wonderfully exaggerated attacks. Brawling gives way to platforming, vehicle rides and other sudden changes of pace, so the next stage can feel like a fresh challenge. Representative games: Battletoads (1991): The Turbo Tunnel turns the adventure into a speeding obstacle course. Battletoads in Battlemaniacs (1993): Rash and Pimple deliver their own distinctive, oversized finishing attacks. Battletoads — Xbox One/PC game (2020): Up to three players can tackle the adventure together in local co-op. Suitable for: For players who enjoy cartoon slapstick, varied action and learning a stage through repeated attempts. Sharing the chaos with a friend is another draw in entries with cooperative play.
