About this game
The Midnight Walk places you behind the eyes of The Burnt One on a journey with Potboy, a lost lantern creature. His flame lights the route, but fire-eating monsters also want it. To get past these threats, you use that flame as a distraction while finding cover and evading danger. The journey unfolds through five tales of fire and darkness. Its creatures and landscapes began as physical clay models that were scanned into the game and animated in a stop-motion style. The same handmade approach shapes both the companion traveling beside you and the monsters you must outwit.

Nintendo Switch 2AI review
AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
An inviting prospect for players drawn to handmade horror and survival through misdirection.
Potboy's flame serves as both guidance and a distraction, which can make protecting your companion feel closely tied to finding a way forward. Clay models and stop-motion styling may particularly appeal to players who enjoy visibly handcrafted fantasy.
Strengths
- The flame's linked roles can give the companion relationship a concrete gameplay purpose.
- The shared clay aesthetic can connect friendly and threatening figures within one unusual world.
Weaknesses
- Players who prefer confronting threats directly may be less drawn to hiding and evasion.
Who it is for: Players interested in first-person dark fantasy, a companion-led journey and avoiding monsters through distraction.
Play notes: Progress involves hiding from and evading monsters that seek Potboy's flame.
