About this game

Take responsibility for Voyager's journey home through ship management, exploration and crew assignments. Restore damaged rooms, choose facilities to build and scan celestial bodies for resources. Research opens further development choices, including Borg technology, while away missions ask you to select crew members whose talents fit the task. When a confrontation becomes a ship battle, you issue offensive and defensive commands from the bridge and target enemy systems. Decisions also affect the crew's fate and the form Voyager takes along the journey. Alongside the campaign, Q Trials offers a separate run-based mode without story or away missions; unlocked characters and researched technologies remain available in future runs.

7.7 / 10Nintendo Switch 2

For players drawn to the responsibility of command, resource choices and alternate Voyager outcomes.

Repairs, research and crew assignments put several kinds of decisions behind the journey home. Those systems should appeal to players who want to shape a starship's development and weigh its needs alongside the fate of its crew.

Strengths

  • Ship development and crew-based decisions offer complementary ways to express a captain's priorities.

Weaknesses

  • Players chiefly interested in following the crew's story may find less appeal in Q Trials, which removes story and away missions.

Who it is for: Voyager fans interested in alternative outcomes, and strategy players who enjoy managing a ship and matching crew talents to missions.

Play notes: Q Trials omits campaign storytelling and away missions; unlocked characters and researched technologies carry over between runs.
