About this game

Outbound makes your camper van the center of an open-world journey. Starting with an empty vehicle, you build inside it and on its roof using modular parts, turning your transport into a home that travels with you. Solar, wind and water energy power the electric van, while technological progress lets you use energy more efficiently. Away from construction, you explore colorful biomes and their landmarks, then grow plants and mushrooms to eat fresh or cook into meals. The recurring activities connect travel with the development of your moving base: expanding its structure, improving its power supply and tending its food. You can follow that loop solo or build and travel with others through online cooperative play.

7.7 / 10Nintendo Switch 2

A fitting prospect for players who want construction, food growing and road travel to revolve around the same home.

Keeping the base on the vehicle could make improvements feel like part of the journey itself. Energy development and gardening suggest a routine of tending your home between discoveries, with online cooperation offering a shared version of that project.

Strengths

  • Modular construction on the vehicle could give builders a continuing personal project as they explore.
  • Renewable power and food growing provide complementary goals for players who enjoy maintaining a self-sufficient home.

Who it is for: Players who enjoy shaping a base over time and alternating construction with exploration or online group projects.

Play notes: Cooperative play is online; it requires an internet connection and paid Nintendo Switch Online membership.
