About this game
Metro: Last Light Complete Edition is a PC shooter game centered on aiming and shooting, positioning and evasion, and weapon and firepower management. Missions pace progress through enemy waves, routes, objectives, and weapon opportunities, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Aiming feedback, projectiles, hits, and danger zones need to remain readable, while resolution, graphics settings, frame rate, aspect ratio, audio, text scaling, and hardware performance need to preserve action, state, and text readability together. The genre-specific limitation is that camera turning, aiming methods, dense encounters, and peripheral support can increase control pressure. Platform conditions also include OS and hardware requirements, installation media, patches, drivers, DRM and launchers, key binding and controller support, save locations, mod compatibility, servers, and era-specific OS compatibility affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.
Collected in series
Metro blends first-person shooting, stealth and survival horror in the nuclear wasteland of Dmitry Glukhovsky’s fictional universe. Underground settlements and ruined landscapes make ammunition, clean air and the decision to stay hidden feel equally important.

Strong atmosphere and combat choices, with uneven stealth, pacing and older usability.
The original Complete package combines oppressive underground atmosphere with configurable firearms. Human encounters permit dark detours, switching off lights or direct combat, while the watch communicates visibility. Forgiving guards and generous normal-mode supplies nevertheless weaken stealth and resource pressure. Following characters often interrupts the campaign; fragmented dialogue communicates its story less effectively than lighting, sound and lived-in stations establish its world. Bonus material adds Library scavenging and return trips, arenas and a spider-focused episode, although the Factions scenarios vary in depth. Graphics options and usually timely checkpoints are helpful. Missing field-of-view adjustment and occasional historical script or recovery friction remain caveats. It suits players seeking atmosphere and linear shooting who separately check compatibility when using an older version.
Strengths
- Convincing underground atmosphere
- Lighting and weapon choices
- Varied original bonus activities
Weaknesses
- Forgiving normal-mode stealth
- Scripted waits and uneven scenarios
- Historical usability and recovery friction
Who it is for: Players seeking apocalyptic atmosphere, linear shooting and original side activities.
Play notes: Original2013PC base and verified bonus content, not Redux; Chronicles is outside the quality judgment. The2026 compatibility fixes apply only to the GOG package; check system compatibility separately for old Steam builds.
