About this game
Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes is a PC shooter game centered on aiming and shooting, positioning and evasion, and weapon and firepower management. Missions pace progress through enemy waves, routes, objectives, and weapon opportunities, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Aiming feedback, projectiles, hits, and danger zones need to remain readable, while resolution, graphics settings, frame rate, aspect ratio, audio, text scaling, and hardware performance need to preserve action, state, and text readability together. The genre-specific limitation is that camera turning, aiming methods, dense encounters, and peripheral support can increase control pressure. Platform conditions also include OS and hardware requirements, installation media, patches, drivers, DRM and launchers, key binding and controller support, save locations, mod compatibility, servers, and era-specific OS compatibility affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.

A compact but deep stealth sandbox whose replay goals outweigh its short story.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes focuses its PC stealth sandbox on one manageable military camp. Vents, towers, trucks, and alert guards give the player many ways to reach and extract prisoners, while smoother transitions between running, crouching, and crawling make improvisation easier than in older entries. The main rescue story is brief. Four later missions change patrols, weather, and time of day, and rankings for speed, avoiding alarms, and avoiding kills turn the same space into a long-term mastery challenge. Rain, searchlights, and prison imagery make Camp Omega bleak without repeatedly interrupting play for exposition. PC Gamer tested the native Windows release on specified hardware: a GTX 970 held 60 frames per second at 1080p on extra-high settings, while an HD 7850 reached the same rate at high settings. The reviewer noticed minor object pop-in but no other significant faults in those tests. Keyboard and mouse controls are remappable; an analog gamepad felt more natural for controlling quiet walking speed. This is a rewarding short-form stealth laboratory, not a full-length new story or a universal performance guarantee.
Strengths
- Reactive stealth routes and smooth performance on the tested PC rigs.
Weaknesses
- A brief main mission and less intuitive fine movement on keyboard.
Who it is for: Players who enjoy refining stealth routes and pursuing top mission ranks.
Play notes: The 60fps results apply only to the tested hardware and settings.
