About this game

INSIDE is a PC puzzle game centered on rule recognition, spatial or logical judgment, and successive puzzle solving. Compact stages add conditions and tighter constraints over time, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Graphics, audio, and input feedback need to support decisions directly, while resolution, graphics settings, frame rate, aspect ratio, audio, text scaling, and hardware performance need to preserve action, state, and text readability together. The genre-specific limitation is that limited explanations, input recognition, repetition, or abrupt difficulty can stall progress. Platform conditions also include OS and hardware requirements, installation media, patches, drivers, DRM and launchers, key binding and controller support, save locations, mod compatibility, servers, and era-specific OS compatibility affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.

8.5 / 10Windows PC

A tightly paced puzzle journey built from minimal, expressive controls.

Inside on PC uses only movement, jump and grab, yet keeps changing what those actions mean. A chase may demand careful timing, another room turns into a physical puzzle, and a later underwater sequence asks players to understand new hazards with familiar inputs. Death is frequent but retries quickly teach the rules, so trial and error rarely becomes a long reset. The direct PC review describes a journey of roughly four hours through forest, farm, factory and submarine scenes with little filler. Its ending leaves room for interpretation, which may disappoint anyone seeking an explicit explanation. Layered, nearly monochrome environments, reactive animation and spare sound communicate danger and emotion without dialogue. The same review explicitly describes keyboard arrows or analogue movement and finds jump and grab natural and responsive, including when the situation changes. This assessment concerns the reviewed PC build and its controls; it makes no unverified claim about another platform, later patch or exact frame rate.

Strengths

  • Clear controls, quick retries and wordless audiovisual storytelling reinforce each other.

Weaknesses

  • The short campaign and open ending may leave some players wanting answers.

Who it is for: Players who enjoy compact environmental puzzles and understated storytelling.

Play notes: Based on a 2016 PC review without a precise hardware or patch claim.
