About this game
Haunt is a Xbox 360 adventure game centered on area and route exploration, story, case, or mission progress, and objective or clue progression. Locations, objectives, and clues gradually open the main chapters, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Theme, character expression, and environmental clues need to support exploration together, while HD video, DVD streaming, surround audio, HDD installs, and television-distance interfaces need to keep action, state, and text readable. The genre-specific limitation is that guidance, objective triggers, camera behavior, or dense text can create search and comprehension costs. Platform conditions also include disc and HDD installation, storage devices, controller batteries, video connections, resolution and frame rate, Kinect space and calibration, and retired online services affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.

A humorous haunted house and physical interaction charm, but tracking errors and sparse saves magnify frustration.
Haunt turns a haunted-house ride into an adventure of punching, dodging and covering your ears. An arm guides the flashlight, walking in place moves forward, and pushes or pulls open doors and furniture. Physical participation makes its cartoon ghosts' appearances entertaining. A joking portrait guide, candlelit corridors, neon phantoms and expressive performances establish a mischievous rather than frightening mood. Three wings emphasise sound, sight and movement, but simple combat and repeated gestures offer little challenge once the prompts become familiar. Kinect usually follows the action, yet flashlight tracking and quick evasions sometimes fail. Getting trapped in scenery can require restarting, and end-of-level autosaving may lose meaningful progress. It suits existing owners seeking light physical ghost-hunting, with an Xbox 360 Kinect and suitable space, not a conventional controller adventure.
Strengths
- Flashlight, pulling and dodging gestures make exploration physical.
- The comic guide, cartoon ghosts and expressive voices create a playful mood.
Weaknesses
- Repeated combat, intermittent tracking and scenery traps are worsened by end-of-level saves.
Who it is for: Existing Xbox 360 Kinect owners seeking light physical adventures.
Play notes: Xbox 360 Kinect and physical space are required; original store purchases are closed, so this evaluates existing entitlements.
