About this game
Fired Up is a PSP shooter game centered on combat encounters, aiming and shooting, and positioning and evasion. Missions pace progress through enemy waves, routes, objectives, and weapon opportunities, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Aiming feedback, projectiles, hits, and danger zones need to remain readable, while the portable widescreen, UMD streaming, compressed audio, and handheld-scale interface need to preserve targets, text, and action readability. The genre-specific limitation is that camera turning, aiming methods, dense encounters, and peripheral support can increase control pressure. Platform conditions also include single-nub camera control, UMD loading and noise, Memory Stick saves, battery life, regional language, ad hoc requirements, and retired online services affect present-day use. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.

Vehicular destruction offers brief thrills, but repetitive objectives and slippery handling weaken the solo campaign.
Fired Up sends armed vehicles through urban and snowy areas to attack tanks, ambush transports and collect more destructive weapons. Explosions provide immediate amusement, but poorly explained pickups and difficult targeting make the action less controlled than it initially appears. Choosing tasks within an area suggests freedom, yet collection and rescue objectives often repeat the same search structure. Escorts and defense add some variety without sustaining a compelling solo campaign. Vehicle models and explosions are readable, although plain scenery and repetitive music leave the setting thin. On PSP, slippery steering and slow recovery after rolling over make narrow routes particularly frustrating. Local wireless matches offer a more promising use for the premise, with Capture the Flag and other competitive rules giving friends reasons to return after the solo missions lose their appeal.
Strengths
- Armed-vehicle destruction provides immediate thrills.
- Capture the Flag and King of the Hill broaden multiplayer options.
Weaknesses
- Repeated objectives, imprecise aiming and narrow-platform handling undermine the action.
Who it is for: Suited to brief vehicular action sessions, especially with local multiplayer companions.
Play notes: The assessment covers original PSP solo and local wireless play, not the preceding PS2 Hardware game.
