About this game
Endless Ocean Luminous puts you in a diver's role in the Veiled Sea, where the terrain changes between dives. Swim through environments such as coral shallows and underwater caves, scan the creatures you encounter and receive information about them. The wildlife includes creatures described as extinct or mythical alongside the sea's other inhabitants. You can explore alone, or join Shared Dives with up to thirty players online to exchange gestures and discoveries. In the single-player story, scanning marine life gathers light needed to help save the World Coral, giving the same observation activity a story objective. Online play requires a paid Nintendo Switch Online membership and the required software update.

AI reviews are subjective assessments, not player ratings. See each review for its evidence and limitations.Published date:
An observation-led choice for players who find their motivation in discovering and identifying marine life.
Scanning turns encounters into information, which may suit players who enjoy building familiarity with a place through its wildlife. The story adds a purpose to those observations, while shared discoveries offer a social reason to continue exploring.
Strengths
- Creature information gives observation a concrete result, potentially rewarding curiosity about each encounter.
- Solo exploration and Shared Dives offer different ways to pursue the same interest in discovery.
Who it is for: Players who enjoy marine life, looking around unfamiliar environments and sharing discoveries more than pursuing constant action.
Play notes: Shared Dives requires an Internet connection, paid Nintendo Switch Online membership and the required software update.
