About this game
Dragon Age: Inquisition is a party-based role-playing game set amid conflict in Thedas. As the Inquisitor, players gather adventurers and attempt to restore order while tensions between mages and templars divide the land. Individual party members can be controlled directly, with tactical pauses allowing positions and targets to be assigned. Skills and equipment develop the group, while dialogue choices shape relationships and political decisions. Taking strongholds and assigning duties connect adventures in the field with the growth of the Inquisition.

Dragon Age Inquisition
Companions and organisational growth reward investment, with repetitive tasks and serious version compromises.
Inquisition gives its scale a purpose by turning fieldwork into organisational growth. Companion conversations, personal quests, stronghold development and advisor operations provide visible reasons to build influence. Crafting and party skills make preparation interesting, although errands and collection tasks recur, and the central conflict can be less compelling than individual relationships. Selecting activities matters more than exhausting every icon. The PS3 limitations go beyond simpler visuals. The identified test reports delayed menu and extra-skill inputs, stuttering scenes, late textures and voices out of sync, repeatedly interrupting combat and conversation. Tactical pauses can arrange actions but cannot replace responsive execution. Players willing to invest in companions and the developing organisation may accept these historical compromises. Those who value uninterrupted control should count them as substantial limitations rather than cosmetic differences.
Strengths
- Companions and stronghold development connect
- Equipment, skills and tactics offer options
Weaknesses
- Repeated errands and collection
- Delayed inputs and stuttering scenes
Who it is for: RPG players invested in companions and organisational growth who accept this version’s documented limitations.
Play notes: Independent judgment from Iain Metcalf’s December 13, 2014 PS3 account of roughly 70 hours and Krist Duro’s February 23, 2015 PS3 observations, not our own playtest. Patches and models are unknown; Duro notes an ageing machine. Historical faults are not guaranteed current, and PS4, GOTY additions and current networking are excluded.

| Dimension | Review state | Score | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dimension Companion conversations, personal quests and stronghold development reward exploration, with power enabling further operations. Collecting, errands and timed assignments also accumulate into repetitive work. | Reviewed | 8.5 / 10 | 0.25 |
| Dimension Party skills, crafting and tactical pauses offer several forms of preparation, linked to the Inquisition’s growth. Encounters often manageable through direct action reduce the need for detailed command. | Reviewed | 8.0 / 10 | 0.4 |
| Dimension Broad landscapes and companion performances establish atmosphere, but the PS3 account reports blurry textures, delayed objects and sound arriving in stages. Those interruptions weaken the continuity of the presentation. | Reviewed | 7.4 / 10 | 0.2 |
| Dimension Menu and extra-skill input lag, stuttering cutscenes and desynchronised voices are reported on PS3. They obstruct both preparation and combat, beyond what tactical pauses can compensate for. | Reviewed | 5.4 / 10 | 0.15 |
