About this game
Dokapon 3-2-1 - Arashi o Yobu Yuujou is a Super Famicom role-playing release centered on collection and development goals, area exploration, and combat and party setup. Story beats, exploration, and progression resources support a longer campaign, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make its immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on campaign length or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Characters, world building, maps, and music carry most of the atmosphere, while sprite animation, scrolling, color, and chip-based audio jointly carry readability and atmosphere. The main genre-specific friction is that dense text, menu layers, repeated battles, and language dependence can slow progress. In addition, password or battery saves, multiplayer accessories, manual dependence, regional language, and cartridge enhancement chips can affect original-hardware use. This description covers only this release and excludes emulator features, modern-port conveniences, and content from other platforms.

Super Famicom / SNESAI review

A wonderfully antagonistic board-game RPG whose balance and original conveniences have limits.
Dokapon 3-2-1 turns a Super Famicom board game into a contest of character growth, battles, property and interference with other players. Roulette movement is simple, but stealing wealth and forcing reversals make a lead feel excitingly insecure. An eight-chapter scenario, a configurable week-limited normal mode and battle-royal variants offer different goals for a group. Matches can still run long, and a severe setback may be more frustrating than funny for the player on the receiving end. A detailed original-game analysis also points to uneven jobs and magic tactics, which can let experienced players dominate. Its cheerful fantasy framing makes the rivalry legible; the memorable drama comes primarily from friends undoing one another's plans. On the original SFC release, two slots and optional after-turn autosaving preserve progress, but manual saves are not available. The speed and save-state features of later collections are not credited here.
Strengths
- Board movement and RPG growth feed lively player rivalry.
- Several modes support different session goals.
- Wealth reversals create memorable shared stories.
Weaknesses
- Job and magic balance can favor dominant strategies.
- Long sessions and harsh losses may sour a group.
- The original lacks manual save states and later collection conveniences.
Who it is for: Friends who enjoy direct interference and can make time for a competitive board-game session.
Play notes: Original Super Famicom version only, without later collection features.

| Dimension An eight-chapter scenario, configurable normal game and battle-royal variants provide several session shapes. Asset swings keep company lively but can also lengthen a match or leave a punished player struggling to recover. | Reviewed | 7.3 / 10 | Not provided |
| Dimension Board movement, RPG growth, combat and opportunities to rob rivals make each lead precarious. That rivalry is the core attraction. A detailed SFC analysis also identifies uneven job and magic balance that can narrow competitive options. | Reviewed | 7.7 / 10 | Not provided |
| Dimension A fantasy contest to become the richest future ruler makes towns, monsters and character jobs easy to contextualize. The atmosphere is driven chiefly by rivalry and reversals among players; available sources do not justify detailed claims about music or animation. | Reviewed | 7.0 / 10 | Not provided |
| Dimension Face-button combat and roulette inputs are documented, and two slots can autosave after each turn. Manual saving is unavailable. Modern collection-only speed controls and save states are excluded from this original SFC assessment. | Reviewed | 6.5 / 10 | Not provided |
