About this game

Disney-Pixar Ratatouille is a PSP action game centered on platform movement and landing judgment, movement and immediate actions, and enemy and hazard responses. Stages build pressure through routes, enemy patterns, and changing objectives, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Animation, hits, camera behavior, and readable hazards determine whether feedback remains dependable, while the portable widescreen, UMD streaming, compressed audio, and handheld-scale interface need to preserve targets, text, and action readability. The genre-specific limitation is that camera behavior, collision rules, input mapping, and repeated ground after failure can raise the entry barrier. Platform conditions also include single-nub camera control, UMD loading and noise, Memory Stick saves, battery life, regional language, ad hoc requirements, and retired online services affect present-day use. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.

6.8 / 10PlayStation Portable

Charming rat-scale spaces support conventional platforming.

The PSP Ratatouille follows Remy after the film through thirty large, rat-scale obstacle courses. Climbing furniture, swimming, moving objects and acrobatic leaps make traversal enjoyable, while spiders and other enemies provide only simple interruptions. The main quest has a respectable length of roughly six hours. Optional keys unlock real recipes, and two local competitive games exist, but those games require two PSPs and copies, so their replay value is conditional. Painted-looking interiors, lively Remy animation, voice scenes and Parisian music convey the film especially well. The direct PSP account also finds inconsistent collision: some apparent objects can be passed through while small cords stop movement. This is a charming, conventional 3D adventure for film fans who enjoy exploring spaces, rather than an action game with deep enemy encounters.

Strengths

  • Furniture-sized levels, Remy animation and Parisian atmosphere.

Weaknesses

  • Simple enemies, weak collectibles and ambiguous collision.

Who it is for: Film fans who enjoy exploring 3D spaces.

Play notes: Local competitive games need two PSPs and two copies.
