About this game

Blek is a Wii U puzzle game centered on puzzle, maze, or device solving, rule recognition, and spatial or logical judgment. Compact stages add conditions and tighter constraints over time, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make its immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Graphics, audio, touch, or pointer feedback need to support decisions directly, while HD television output and the GamePad screen need to divide maps, status, touch input, and primary focus clearly. The genre-specific limitation is that limited explanations, input recognition, repetition, or abrupt difficulty can stall progress. Platform conditions also include GamePad battery life and range, shifts between two screens, loading, performance, and retired online and Miiverse services affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features from other editions.

8.0 / 10Wii U

Expressive drawing with precise Wii U input.

Blek on Wii U makes a single drawn line into a puzzle instrument. The stroke repeats its shape across the screen, and the player must guide it through every coloured circle without touching a black one. A straight line, curve or rising spiral can all become plausible answers, so there is usually more than one way to reason through a layout. Sixty puzzles progress from intuitive introductions to moving hazards that demand tighter curves and timing. That climb is engaging, but a stage cannot be skipped when the player needs a fresh perspective, causing occasional hard stops. Coloured circles against pure white space look especially striking on a larger display. There is no continuous soundtrack; successful chimes and playful error utterances keep feedback focused on the gesture. A direct Wii U review finds the GamePad’s larger touch surface and stylus more precise than drawing with a finger. Off-TV play is possible but remains tethered to the console. This score weighs that port-specific accuracy against lost portability; it does not transfer mobile-device behavior or a published review number.

Strengths

  • Multiple solutions, gradual challenge and clear feedback.

Weaknesses

  • No stage skipping and limited portability.

Who it is for: Players who enjoy quiet, open-ended touch puzzles.

Play notes: Wii U port only; mobile portability excluded.
