About this game

Blazing Angels 2 - Secret Missions of WWII is a PlayStation 3 simulation game centered on area and route exploration, collection and development goals, and character or equipment growth. Schedules, changing values, or staged goals encourage repeated adjustment, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Interface clarity and state feedback matter more than spectacle, while HD 3D scenes, Blu-ray data streaming, surround audio, and cinematic presentation need to preserve action, state, and text readability together. The genre-specific limitation is that explanations, dense menus, real-time systems, or accessory dependencies can add friction. Platform conditions also include Blu-ray loading, HDD installs, system software, DualShock 3 battery life, Move accessories, resolution and frame rate, and retired online services affect present-day use. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.

Varied secret sorties with uneven challenge and retries.

Blazing Angels 2: Secret Missions of WWII on PlayStation 3 exchanges strict historical battle recreation for fictional covert sorties. Dropping an agent near a train, infiltrating as an enemy aircraft and facing prototypes give the missions more varied objectives than simple dogfights. Dual analogue movement and trigger-based firing are approachable, while lock-on helps locate a target but can become disorienting if held too long. The d-pad issues attack and support commands to wingmen. Their invulnerability sometimes makes a dangerous encounter too easy to delegate. Objectives, stunt markers and optional tasks yield Prestige Points for aircraft, weapon and squad upgrades, giving progression a tangible reward. Checkpoints after major goals help, yet failing certain timed objectives means replaying long approaches. Clouds, aircraft and aerial views of the ground convey the alternate-war setting, supported by engines and gunfire; character dialogue is merely adequate. The direct PS3 review supports the platform control and retry observations. Promotional feature bullets below that article have not been treated as firsthand findings, and no PC performance claim has been transferred.

Strengths

  • Varied objectives, upgrades and accessible PS3 controls.

Weaknesses

  • Overpowered wingmen and long timed retries.

Who it is for: Players drawn to alternate-history air missions.

Play notes: Original PS3 only; marketing and PC behavior excluded.
