About this game

Blast Factor is a PlayStation 3 shooter game centered on puzzle, maze, or device solving, aiming and shooting, and positioning and evasion. Missions pace progress through enemy waves, routes, objectives, and weapon opportunities, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Aiming feedback, projectiles, hits, and danger zones need to remain readable, while HD 3D scenes, Blu-ray data streaming, surround audio, and cinematic presentation need to preserve action, state, and text readability together. The genre-specific limitation is that camera turning, aiming methods, dense encounters, and peripheral support can increase control pressure. Platform conditions also include Blu-ray loading, HDD installs, system software, DualShock 3 battery life, Move accessories, resolution and frame rate, and retired online services affect present-day use. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.

Inventive crowd control outshines a limited base package.

Blast Factor places twin-stick shooting inside infected hexagonal cells. Repelling enemies and tilting the arena create useful alternatives to simple evasion, particularly when armoured targets must be flipped. Dense later encounters make those interactions worthwhile. Seven specimens branch toward easier or harder cells according to performance, while nearby checkpoints and unlimited continues keep practice manageable. Similar bosses, however, weaken the sense of a fresh climax. The original base package has little background or enemy-design variety, and launch testing recorded no music, leaving its atmosphere thin. On PS3, familiar stick controls are straightforward, but Sixaxis tilting can trigger accidentally or send a wave the wrong way. It suits short-session shooting enthusiasts who enjoy positioning practice. Additional expansion content and music are not included in this assessment.

Strengths

  • Repelling and tilting enable proactive crowd control
  • Nearby checkpoints keep practice manageable

Weaknesses

  • Repeated bosses and backgrounds limit variety
  • Tilt input can trigger unexpectedly

Who it is for: Players seeking compact twin-stick challenges and positioning practice.

Play notes: Original base package only, excluding Advanced Research and multiplayer expansion; presentation observations are launch-era.
