About this game
Azito is a PlayStation strategy game centered on combat encounters, turn-based tactical decisions, and battlefield assessment. Missions add map constraints, new rules, and tougher opposition, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Maps, unit states, and action feedback determine whether complex situations remain readable, while early 3D graphics, pre-rendered backgrounds, CD audio, and full-motion video need to preserve targets and interface readability on a television. The genre-specific limitation is that tutorial depth, dense menus, controller pointing, and long scenarios increase the learning curve. Platform conditions also include disc loading, Memory Card saves, regional video standards, digital or analog control support, vibration, and dedicated peripherals affect original-hardware use. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.

An engaging secret-base manager limited by tiring pad navigation and waiting after its systems become familiar.
Azito turns the secret-base fantasy into connected management decisions. Surface shops camouflage the underground complex, product sales fund development, scientists create monsters and heroes, and intelligence work complements routes and defensive preparations. Rooms affect one another and movement efficiency matters, so building is more than piling in favorite units. Tiny pixel inhabitants and tokusatsu-style humor make the base enjoyable to watch, while eight stages with tightening space introduce further layout problems. Once a reliable solution is found, however, construction can become routine and waiting for enemy declarations slows progress. Original PS pad navigation is tiring too. Learning the function buttons, adjusting cursor speed or using a mouse helps without making management effortless. It suits patient planners enjoying the organization's workings rather than expecting continuously rapid battles and expansion.
Strengths
- Commerce, research, intelligence and defensive layouts create connected management decisions.
- Tightening space and comic pixel inhabitants make planning and observation enjoyable.
Weaknesses
- Familiar solutions and waiting slow later play; original-pad cursor management is tiring.
Who it is for: Base-management players who enjoy detailed spatial, economic and defensive planning.
Play notes: This is the original PS game, not a sequel or the 3DS port; a PS mouse helps cursor management and Japanese menus require reading.
