About this game

Angry Birds Trilogy is a PlayStation 3 puzzle game centered on rule recognition, spatial or logical judgment, and successive puzzle solving. Compact stages add conditions and tighter constraints over time, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Graphics, audio, and input feedback need to support decisions directly, while HD 3D scenes, Blu-ray data streaming, surround audio, and cinematic presentation need to preserve action, state, and text readability together. The genre-specific limitation is that limited explanations, input recognition, repetition, or abrupt difficulty can stall progress. Platform conditions also include Blu-ray loading, HDD installs, system software, DualShock 3 battery life, Move accessories, resolution and frame rate, and retired online services affect present-day use. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.

7.0 / 10PlayStation 3

A generous three-game package with divided views of PS3 motion input.

The original PS3 Trilogy gathers Angry Birds, Seasons and Rio in one compilation. Its varied birds, destructible materials and trajectory puzzles remain easy to grasp, while the extensive stage list and three-star targets offer many opportunities to improve a shot. Console-exclusive stages add a little more material, and the HD presentation looks clearer on a television than the earlier PlayStation Mini. These are still brief puzzle sessions at heart, so playing the collection for long stretches can make its repeated structure more obvious. Analog-stick aiming and X-button launch are available. Firsthand accounts disagree about optional PlayStation Move: one reports a shaky cursor, accidental launches and zoom resetting after a restart, while a family review preferred Move among the offered controls. Those preferences should not be generalized into a universal fault. The package earns credit for breadth rather than a new design. This judgment concerns the original three-game PS3 bundle, not the later Vita port or add-on episodes.

Strengths

  • Three games and star goals provide substantial puzzle material.
  • HD presentation is clearer than the earlier Mini on a television.

Weaknesses

  • Extended couch sessions make repeated level structure more apparent.
  • One PS3 account reports Move cursor shake and resetting zoom.

Who it is for: Players seeking the early three games together and willing to choose their preferred PS3 control.

Play notes: Two PS3 accounts differ on Move; later add-ons and Vita content are excluded.
