About this game
Alien Hominid Invasion is a PlayStation 5 shooter game centered on aiming, shooting, and weapon use, positioning and evasion, and weapon and firepower management. Missions pace progress through enemy waves, routes, objectives, and weapon opportunities, with progress divided into stages, tasks, matches, or growth milestones that make immediate goals understandable. Its value depends on whether these rules continue to create judgment and room for mastery rather than on length, sales, or series recognition. Short campaigns are judged by repeat-challenge value, while longer ones are judged by variety, pacing, and recovery after failure. Aiming feedback, projectiles, hits, and danger zones need to remain readable, while SSD streaming, 4K and HDR output, 3D audio, performance or quality modes, and high-density interfaces need to preserve feedback and information clarity together. The genre-specific limitation is that camera turning, aiming methods, dense encounters, and peripheral support can increase control pressure. Platform conditions also include install size, SSD space, patch version, DualSense battery life, visual mode and frame rate, online dependencies, PS VR2 requirements, and cross-generation version differences affect the current release. This description covers only this platform release and does not import features or conveniences from remasters, emulators, or other console editions.

Movement and objectives give shooting meaningful route and risk choices.
Alien Hominid Invasion replaces a simple march to the right with a choice of city routes, objectives and extraction decisions. Rolling, digging and mutation abilities make movement enjoyable, while equipment choices support different approaches. Several players causing chaos together are especially appealing, and individual difficulty and item-retention options make mixed skill groups easier to accommodate. Hand-drawn animation, strange headgear and exaggerated enemies preserve the comic identity. When players spread out and the camera pulls back, however, tracking your character and incoming fire takes extra attention. Randomly assembled neighborhoods and progression support repeat runs, even as objective patterns become familiar. The PlayStation releases confirm both local and online cooperation, with PS Plus required online. It suits action players who enjoy experimenting with routes, equipment and disorderly teamwork.
Strengths
- Movement, mutations and routes enrich shooting
- Different skill levels can cooperate
Weaknesses
- Busy multiplayer scenes can be hard to read
- Objectives become repetitive
Who it is for: Players who enjoy cooperative side-scrolling shooters
Play notes: Choose difficulty and item-retention rules first; online play requires PS Plus.
